2008 FALL ORIENTATION
Save the Dates - August 20 and August 21, 2008.
The New Graduate Student orientation program will be held on Wednesday, 20 August. Orientation for the Graduate
Teaching Assistants and Graduate Research Assistants will be held on Thursday, 21 August. All sessions will be held in
the Memorial Union. An Information Fair featuring several units such as the Wellness Center, International Programs,
Student Financial Aid, Payroll and Office of the Registrar will be on hand to provide information and to answer questions.

PICNIC
All graduate students are invited to attend the Graduate School Picnic on Wednesday, 20 August in University Park. The
picnic will begin at 4.30pm. Graduate students, graduate faculty and their families are welcome. To assist us with adequate
catering please RSVP here.
CITY TOUR
The Graduate School is offering a city tour for our new residents. If you would like to join us on the bus for an informative
and entertaining view of Grand Forks and the places of interest for graduate students, please reserve your seats on the
RSVP form (families are welcome). The bus will depart the Memorial Union on Wednesday 20 August at 3:30p.m. and will
first return to University Park for those who wish to attend the picnic at 4:30p.m. University Park is one block from campus.
LUNCH WITH THE DEANS
There will be a lunch with the Deans for new Graduate Research Assistants and Graduate Teaching Assistants in the
River Valley Room on Thursday 21 August at the completion of the orientation sessions. If you are attending the GRA or
GTA orientations, please join us for lunch. You can RSVP for that event online.
PARKING INFORMATION
Free parking for students attending orientation will be available in the Memorial Stadium Parking Lot on the corner of
University Avenue and Columbia Road. This is the outdoor parking lot adjacent to the Memorial Stadium and there will
be directional signs posted. The Memorial Union building is less than a five minute walk from here. To view a campus map,

WELLNESS CENTER TOUR
Students who have not yet explored the Wellness Center are encouraged to join the special tour for our graduate students
on Thursday, 21 August at 3pm. The Wellness Center is a state-of-the-art facility committed to multidimensional wellness.
Recreational activities, cardio equipment, meditation space and a demonstration kitchen are a few of the features of this
facility. Ask about tours at the Information Fair during orientation.
