Instructions for Submitting Multiple Applications
You must submit one complete application for each program and for each term to which you are applying. For example, you may be:
• applying to a program to which you have previously applied,
• applying to a program after after being a Non-degree student, or
• applying to more than one program for a given semester.
This document will provide information and advice on how to submit separate applications. You can click on the links below to read more about the following items:
My GradSpace Accounts
Each My GradSpace account can host only one application. You will therefore need individual My GradSpace accounts for each application you submit to The Graduate School.
For security reasons, we do not allow multiple My GradSpace accounts to use the same email address. When you create your new account, be sure to use a different email address than your previous account. If you do not have a different email address, we recommend you use one of the free email providers: Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.
Remember that you can choose your own username and password for My GradSpace. Be sure each account has a different username. We recommend you write down your separate accounts’ log in information and keep them with you during your application process.
Make sure that each application uses its own email address, and be sure to check back on these accounts. We will send admission and application notifications to the email address provided for each application.
Written Statements
We recommend that you consider your applications separate from each other. Pay special attention to the instructions and requirements for each program, and make sure you have prepared all necessary items for each application.
We also recommend that you prepare unique materials for each program. For example, if you are applying to two programs that each require a Personal Statement, we recommend that you write separate Personal Statements for the separate programs.
If you are reapplying to a program, we recommend you prepare fresh and updated materials for your new application. Written statements are not retained by The Graduate School once the application has been acted on.
Test Scores
If you are applying to more than one program at the same time, and if your test scores are current, you can submit the same test score for multiple applications. Please notify The Graduate School if you wish to do so by email, at questions@gradschool.und.edu.
The Graduate School retains test scores for a period of one year. If you are reapplying, you may use the same test score, but it must be current at the time of reapplication. If you are reapplying more than one year after your previous application, you will need to either resend your test scores or provide new test scores.
Transcripts
If you are applying to more than one program at the same time, your official transcripts may be used for multiple applications. Please notify The Graduate School if you wish to do so by email, at questions@gradschool.und.edu. The Graduate School does not normally reopen archived files from previous applications. If you have previously applied, you will need to send new official transcripts.
Letters of Recommendation
We recommend that you gather separate letters of recommendations for separate applications. Be sure to let your recommenders know precisely which program you are applying to.
The Graduate School does not normally reopen archived files from previous applications. If you have previously applied, you will need to gather new letters of recommendation.
Application Fees
An application will not be considered without payment of $35 (USD). You will need to pay this fee for each application you submit.
